PORPOISE CAFÉ Palisades is happy to announce that the Broad Branch Market will operate our beautiful Porpoise Café for the Grand Reopening of the Pool 2010 season! Broad Branch Market is located at 5608 Broad Branch Road, NW, across the street from Lafayette Elementary School in Washington DC. If you are in the neighborhood, stop by and meet Tracy Stannard and John Fielding. They are looking forward to meeting the Palisades membership. For those early morning "A" meets, the Cafe will have plenty of Bethesda Bagels, Heller's donuts and muffins, along with lots of ME swings Diplomat regular and decaf coffees. Lunch will feature three sandwich and three salad options each day. Two of the following hot crock-pot items will also be available: sloppy joes, nachos, chili and soups, individual pizzas, hamburgers; and hot dogs will always be available! A calendar menu also will be provided. There will be an assortment of sodas, freshly-brewed iced tea, home-made lemonade, Vitamin water, Gatorades and Honest Teas. Also one flavor of Slush Puppie will be available. The Cafe plans to have a variety of snacks, nutritional bars, fresh fruits and yogurts. An assortment of candy will be available, along with Ben & Jerry's and Good Humor ice creams. Tracy and John are looking forward to introducing a selection of ready-to-eat dinner items including rotisserie chicken, chicken tenders, grilled meet and fish, as well as pastas and curries. Pair an entree with a salad and a baguette and you have dinner for your whole family at the pool. They are happy to cater birthday parties or any other "pool approved" event. Your family can enjoy a full array of wonderful sandwiches, snacks and refreshments via an account linked to your credit card. Members may complete the attached form to establish a food account to securely and accurately make food purchases. CAFÉ HOURS The Café operating hours are from 11:00 am to 8:00 pm on opening weekend. While Montgomery County schools are in session, the proposed hours will be Monday through Friday from 2:00 pm – 7:00 pm and Saturday and Sunday from 11:00 am – 8:00 pm. When summer vacation begins, the café will be open from 11:00 am to 8:00 pm every day. If there are any changes to this schedule due to inclement weather, an announcement will be posted on the Palisades Listserv, on this page of our website, and at the pool entrance. “CLUB PALISADES” LUNCH Anyone participating in Club Palisades may purchase lunchboxes on a week by week basis directly from the Cafe. Simply sign up with the cafe by the Friday prior to the week your child is entering Club Palisades, and the folks at Broad Branch will arrange lunches for your child Monday through Thursday (on Friday, Club Palisades provides lunch!).
