Palisades Tennis

Welcome to Palisades Tennis

We are a fun and vibrant tennis community for adults and children ages 4 and up. Here, you will find something for everyone – whether you are a beginning player or more experienced member involved in regular league play matches. Under the direction of head teaching pro Doug Sokol, Palisades offers a variety of playing opportunities, including clinics, lessons, cardio tennis, junior camps, and weekly practices to support our adult teams, which play against other clubs in the spring, summer, and fall. Members can reserve one of our three courts using the online reservation system, take a lesson or a clinic, or attend one of the social events open to any member looking to get out on the courts. For more information, please click though the following links for schedules and sign-up directions, or e-mail tennis@palisadespool.com

Spring Junior Instructional Program – Begins April 2nd

We will have after school classes for ages 5-18 years old. We have levels from beginners all the way to tournament level juniors. We teach your kids to play the right way with good technique while having fun at the same time. Please review the attached program and sign your child up ASAP as many classes fill up fast! Please let me know if you need a recommendation as to which class your child should be enrolled in.

Ladies Daytime Tennis Teams

We have two different teams that compete against other area clubs in the daytime GWTA league. We have a B team that plays matches on Tuesday mornings and practices on Mondays. We also have a C team that plays on Monday mornings and practices on Thursday morning. If you are interested in joining either of these teams please contact me or come to practice. The first practice for the B team is Monday April 2nd from 10-12. The first practice for the C team is Thursday April 5th from 10-12.

Adult Evening League

In addition to our daytime teams we also have 2 ladies evening teams and 1 mens evening team. The league begins the first week in May and continues through July. Palisades has a 3.5 team and a 4.0 team for women and the men’s team is mostly 4.0 but 3.5 to 4.5 are welcome. The women’s team plays its matches on Thursday evenings beginning at 6:30. For the women’s team, practices are on Sundays from 10-12 beginning on April 22nd and Tuesdays from 12:30-2:30 beginning on April 24th. Please let me know if you are interested in being placed on any of these evening teams.

Summer Junior Camp Program

For the summer months, you can pretty much design your own tennis program for your child. embers can register their child for tennis before Club Palisades or the very popular Half Day Swim & Tennis Camp. Juniors can do as little as 1 hour a day in our Club Palisades program or as many as 6 hours in our full day program.

Junior Tennis Team

Did you know that our junior tennis team had our best finish ever last year? We finished in 2nd place out of 8 clubs in our league and came within one match of beating the first place team. If your child is interested in getting experience playing matches then the Palisades Junior Tennis Team is perfect for you! The league is only for unranked juniors that do not have a lot of experience playing matches and is a great way for kids to learn how to play matches in a low key atmosphere.
